This painting is a creation to encourage myself after surgery on my right hand. During the rehabilitation period, the fears inside felt like a black hole. I needed to continually practice the specific movements taught by the physical therapist, overcoming the fear and pain of using my hand. I had to accept that I couldn't move freely and that the recovery process could sometimes be frustrating.
 
My simple wish at the time was just to be able to paint with my right hand again, to return to the gym to run and lift weights, and to get back to those little everyday joys. I realized how precious those things I took for granted when I was healthy truly are; we should cherish them as we go.
